How we made sure everyone's voice was heard
Your feedback has been essential in helping the two councils decide to submit the devolution proposal to Government.
How your opinions made a difference
The comments you provided through the consultation have helped us to have a better understanding of the aspects of the deal that you agree or disagree with and why. Your views have influenced and shaped the decision to submit the proposal in its present form.
Making sure the consultation process is fair and inclusive
Both councils have worked hard to make sure that the consultation included a wide range of responses from across the area, representing people from various backgrounds, groups and organisations, including businesses and key stakeholders.
Several face-to-face events took place during the consultation period to allow residents and businesses to have their questions answered, and residents were able to ask for assistance at local libraries or request information in alternate formats if they were unable to complete the consultation survey online.
Both councils carried out equality impact assessments and sought independent advice from a Quality Assurance agency to make sure that the consultation was of high quality and carried out fairly.
The consultation aimed to be transparent, inclusive and meaningful, to make sure residents' opinions are taken into account and everyone had the chance to have their say.
